·         WHAT IS HYDROGRAPHIC TRANSFER?

Hydrographic transfer makes it possible to customize certain complex parts that cannot be customized by other means or by expensive means carried out by professionals.  

·         ON WHICH MEDIUM CAN A TRANSFER BE MADE?

The transfer of hydrographic film ( ink deposit) can be placed on various supports.

All parts (plastic, wood, metal, glass, ceramics etc.)  that can be dived underwater can be customized.

Only the constraints of complex shapes can reduce the scope of action.

·         HOW TO PREPARE THE PARTS BEFORE TRANSFER?

The parts before transfer are painted, the films are in the majority of cases transparent and a basic color is necessary to have the final rendering of the product.

Some supports are raw or are already painted (old paint) so it is necessary to sand and prepare the parts (primer, primary) before transfer.

·         WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED TO MAKE A TRANSFER?

The transfer requires very little material to practice, a basin of hot water heated to about 28 ° is necessary that's all!

·         HOW TO PUT THE FILM ON THE WATER?

Before placing the film on the water it is necessary to ensure the direction of installation. To do this, press the film between your index finger and your moistened thumb in a corner of the film, the side that sticks the most to your finger is the one that will be placed on the water, do  not rely on  the glossy side of the film some films are printed upside down.

The film must be placed on the water gently without causing air bubbles between the film and the water in the tank.

·         WHAT IS THE ACTIVATOR? HOW AND WHEN TO PASS THE ACTIVATOR?

The activator is a diluent that makes it possible to liquefy the film on the water and allows the attachment of the ink of the hydrographic film on the support.

Leave the film on the water for 90 seconds before spraying the activator.

The activator can be diffused either by aerosol 400ml or with a paint gun (nozzle 1.0 to 1.4 recommended) 1 bar of pressure.  The activator must be sprayed over the entire film evenly. Be careful not enough activator does not dissolve the film properly and too much activator burns the ink, a fair dosage is recommended.

·         I MISSED MY TRANSFER HOW DO I DO IT?

When your transfer is missed rinse the support well, let it dry and resume the procedure from the beginning (painting preparation, transfer)

·         IS THE TRANSFER SUSTAINABLE?

Yes the transfer is durable, a varnish finishing matte or glossy bi-component preferably is necessary to protect the pattern.

·         I HAVE A PROBLEM MY FILM DID NOT HANG PROPERLY ON ALL THE SUPPORT!

If the film has not hung on all the support it is normal at the beginning of the tests.

During the first tests there are always small gaps of grip, there is like any technical manipulation a time of adaptation, you may not have respected the procedure to the letter which is important in the process.
